There is this idea in the church that sin is what is keeping people away from God when the truth is sin was dealt with a couple thousand years ago. It’s no longer an issue. And yet there is a huge concept within much of Christianity that God is still angry about our sin today.
One of the fascinating things about the Bible is that it doesn’t whitewash it’s heroes. Take Samson for example. He was an impulsive, self centered, hot tempered, arrogant womanizer who doesn’t come across as all that smart. Not exactly the kind of person we might expect to have God’s favor.
