Keep Doing Good – Galatians 6:9

2 mins read

Have you ever felt like giving up on something that you knew was good and right? Maybe it’s a project you’re passionate about, a relationship you’re invested in, or a calling you feel deep within. In those moments of discouragement, there’s a timeless truth that can serve as a guiding light:

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

— Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)

Imagine this verse as a steady hand on your shoulder, encouraging you to press on even when the road seems long and the obstacles seem insurmountable. It’s a reminder that the good things God has laid on your heart are worth the effort and perseverance. Just as a farmer doesn’t see a harvest immediately after planting, the results of your efforts might not be immediately visible, but they are assured in due time.

The notion of not growing weary in doing good is a powerful one. It acknowledges that the journey of faith and obedience can be tough. There will be moments when the weight of challenges and setbacks might make you question your path. But this verse reminds us that these feelings are normal, and they shouldn’t deter us from continuing to do what’s right.

The promise of reaping a harvest at the proper time is a testament to God’s faithfulness. He sees our efforts, our struggles, and our unwavering commitment to His purposes. Just as a farmer trusts the changing seasons, we can trust that God’s timing is perfect. The fruit of our labor might not be immediate, but it will come to fruition in its appointed time.

So, the next time you’re tempted to throw in the towel, remember this promise of God. Hold onto the assurance that your persistence in doing good aligns with His plan. Embrace the challenges as opportunities for growth and trust that the harvest is on the horizon. By anchoring your actions in this truth, you’ll find the strength to press through discouragement and witness the beautiful results of your faithfulness.
