Our Prosperity Pleases God – Psalms 35:27

2 mins read

You know what’s fascinating? The deeper meanings behind certain words in the Bible. I stumbled upon this incredible nugget: the Hebrew word “shalom.” It’s like this treasure trove of goodness bundled up in a single word. You ready for this? Shalom isn’t just about peace; it’s about safety, wellness, happiness, friendliness, health, and even prosperity. It’s like the ultimate package deal of blessings, and guess what? God’s all about us experiencing every bit of it.

Speaking of which, Psalms 35:27 caught my attention.

Let them shout for joy and be glad,
Who favor my righteous cause;
And let them say continually,
โ€œLet the LORD be magnified,
Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.โ€

โ€” Psalms 35:27 (NKJV)

Now that’s something to think about!

Imagine God delighting in our prosperity, in us experiencing shalom. It’s not just about material riches; it’s about a holistic well-being. God’s heart swells with joy when we’re safe, when we’re well, when happiness radiates from us, when we’re surrounded by friends, when our health is flourishing, and when we’re prospering in all aspects of life. It’s like He’s this loving parent, beaming with pride as we thrive in His blessings.

So often, we might think of prosperity in limited terms, but God’s perspective is so much broader. It’s about us living our best lives, not just materially, but in every way possible. It’s about having a heart full of peace and a life full of purpose.

Party Time!

The verse in Psalms urges us to celebrate, to let our joy and gladness overflow, because our God finds pleasure in our prosperity. It’s a beautiful reminder that God’s not up there counting our struggles; He’s cheering us on, wanting us to flourish.

So, let’s embrace shalom, this incredible gift of safety, wellness, happiness, friendliness, health, and prosperity. Let’s live in a way that magnifies the Lord, showcasing His pleasure in our thriving. It’s a partnership between us and the divine, a journey of experiencing shalom in every corner of our lives.

Psalms 35:27
Prosperity here is the Hebrew word shalom. It means safe, well, happy, friendly, health, prosperity, and peace. God takes pleasure when we experience all that.
