God’s judgment on mankind did not land on Katrina, 9/11, or any tsunami. It landed on Jesus at the cross. He said “It is finished” for a reason.
Psalm 103 says God is slow to anger. Consider what “slow” means to Him. Jesus told John “I am coming quickly” about 2,000 years ago. If God’s quickly is 2,000 years, then His slowly is far longer. His anger has long passed.
His favor is for life.
For His anger is but for a moment,

His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.
