It’s been three months since you have heard from us via our blog. We came back from our last trip to the UK beginning of June and we hit the ground running. I (Lisa) work for the events department at the ministry in Woodland Park and this summer held three major conferences and another one-day event that kept me very busy with events. Chris came back from our last trip with the mission of getting the official Charis Bible College Scotland proposal written and sent in to World Outreach. This is part of the process that must be done in order to start a new Charis Bible College campus.
Conference in Telford
So let’s back up a few steps and share with you about our last trip to England and Scotland, which was very fruitful. We flew into England and attended Andrew Wommack Ministries Grace and Faith Conference held in Telford, England. This is Andrew’s largest conference worldwide and they hosted over 3,000 attendees. It was so awesome seeing so many people from all over the UK and Europe come together to worship and hear the message of grace and faith. The Lord connected us with old friends and many new connections.
During the conference a reception for those who had an interest in attending Charis Bible College was hosted and there was a great turnout. The three schools in the UK were represented, Belfast, Northern Ireland, Dewsbury, England, and Walsall, England. We were able to attend and answer any questions about the Colorado campus as well as a potential school in Scotland. We had six people come talk to us about when is a school in Scotland opening up. It was very encouraging as we are not yet “officially” a location. Seeing real interest for our proposed location was very encouraging to us and we know there are many, many more who will be part of the school in Scotland in the future.
More Planning Time in Dumfries
After the conference we headed up to Dumfries, Scotland to stay with Susan and John Donnelly, pastors of Glen Aros church, and again scout the land and listen to what God had to say. We were blessed by a visit from Allan Bruce, Director of Charis Bible College Belfast for two days while in Dumfries. It was his first visit to Dumfries. We shared our vision with him and showed him this beautiful part of the country. It was a very productive time and one we know will bare much fruit because we know Ireland and Scotland will be working together in the future to expand the Kingdom in these two Celtic countries.
Our trip went by very quickly but it reinforced our call to Scotland once more and more firmly solidified the direction we sense God leading us.
Even More Planning Back in Colorado
So fast forward to today….After our return this summer Chris spent a lot of time putting together a formal plan for getting the Bible college location up and running in Dumfries. Basically we’re responsible for developing a ministry plan, which is like a business plan, to show that the proposed location is viable in the natural. He submitted that plan a few weeks ago and we’re moving through the process to get that plan formally approved. Once it is then Dumfries will officially be on the map!
Once that happens, then it’s time to move forward on securing visas and our financial support needed to go over to Scotland. As directors of a Charis Bible College we go over as missionaries who will be responsible for raising our own support. We are ever so grateful to those who have already joined us as partners in our ministry. Without you we could not be doing what we are doing.
Please pray for us to hear the Lord on His timing and His plan for raising support as we move forward. Pray for our leadership for wisdom as we solidify the plans for the first school in Scotland and for all the other schools in the UK. There is great fruit in the United Kingdom that is waiting to be picked and these schools are a place for people to come learn the message of grace and faith and become the world changers God has purposed them to be. Looking forward to seeing all God has for all of these schools.
Partnering
If Scotland is big on your heart and you would like to be a part of accomplishing God sized things in that great country then there are some tangible things you can do.
Perhaps most importantly you can pray. Pray specifically that we will continue to experience favor, both with God and with other people, every step in this process. Pray for receptive hearts in the people of Scotland, that they will grow in hunger to know the true nature and character of God and crave the message we bring via Charis Bible College. And thank God for the provision he is already lining up to pay for everything involved in getting the work done which he has assigned for us to do. Please contact us and let us know you are praying for us in this work. It is always encouraging to hear others who are locking shields with us as we move forward in Kingdom work.
If the Holy Spirit is prompting you to partner with us financially then please use our partnership form to securely submit your tax deductible donation. The task in front of us is impossible in ourselves. It is only with the partnership of people like you who have a heart for Scotland that we are able to continue in the work God put in front of us.
